Acting as both training camp and laboratory, it is a diverse, multidisciplinary program where unexpected collisions and obsessive attention to detail expose a rich seam of creative potential. Media Studies presents an opportunity to develop individual practice, where students hone their dexterity with established and progressive media, actively testing modes of production through focused acts of doing and making.
ONE MINUTE ANIMATION
Tues, 2-5pm, South Jury Room
In the four sessions you will make an animated gif and a 1500 frame (1 minute) animation with original soundtrack. The gif will focus on you, or elements of you, as the subject. For the animation, all methods of production will be considered, but Stop Motion will be emphasized. All topics and concepts are valid, including outside interests or concerns you may have. Cameras, crayons, clay, Premiere, paint, Final Cut, chromakeying, Motion, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Garageband, Logic/no logic are among the tools we will be using.
Session 1: INTRODUCTION

Screenings of animated work. We will see examples of animated work, have a look at software and discuss stop-motion techniques. We make animated GIF’s as homework.
Session 2: SOFTWARE AND GIF LOOK-SEE

Discussion of storyboards and further screenings.
