Acting as both training camp and laboratory, it is a diverse, multidisciplinary program where unexpected collisions and obsessive attention to detail expose a rich seam of creative potential. Media Studies presents an opportunity to develop individual practice, where students hone their dexterity with established and progressive media, actively testing modes of production through focused acts of doing and making.
CONCEPT EMERGENCE: MODELLING IDEAS

Conceptual drawing is the main driver in the process of design. In this course students, will engage with digital drafting and crafting of concept drawings. Learning polygon modelling as well as digital prototyping they will develop their own conceptual ideas into a final prototype. The course will focus on learning Polygon Modelling (Autodesk Maya) as the main drafting tool to develop conceptual drawings to a more evolved level. Students will be given the choice of either working on a simple concept drawing of their own or they will be able to use one by a favorite architect. The conceptual drawing should have a design intention that can be translated into an object. In the process of learning new techniques, students will gain not just excellent skills, but also bring out their personal singularities to build up their own design language.

In the Final session we will adjust the notation/spatial arrangement to sync with the audio and make an animation to show the relationship of the sound and the space together.
Final Submission will be A0 panel, proving the students the skills for translating their 2D drawings into a 3-Dimensional Project. The panel will present the original conceptual drawings, 2 render images and 1 picture of the 3d prototype of the final result. The results will evaluate the learning curve of the student in relation to the software but also from the result of the work and the capacity to translate their conceptual drawing into a unique project.
